Selecting the appropriate Fiberglass felt requires comprehensive consideration of five key factors.

The first factor is operating temperature. For normal temperature scenarios (-50°C to 100°C), standard glass wool felt is sufficient to meet requirements. For medium-temperature scenarios (100°C to 250°C), high-temperature resistant products should be selected to ensure the binder can withstand the corresponding temperature. For high-temperature scenarios (above 250°C), binder-free needled felt must be used, or alternative materials such as ceramic fiber should be considered.
Density requirements are equally important. If sound insulation is the primary purpose, low-density felt (16-24kg/m³) offers optimal sound absorption performance. For thermal insulation as the main focus, medium-density felt (32-48kg/m³) provides the most balanced comprehensive performance. For applications with wind pressure resistance requirements, such as inside air ducts, high-density felt (above 64kg/m³) is necessary to prevent fibers from being dispersed by airflow.

Environmental humidity is also a crucial consideration. In dry environments, standard Fiberglass felt is sufficient. For humid conditions, products with hydrophobic treatment or aluminum foil facing should be selected. For outdoor use, a waterproof outer protective layer must be installed to prevent performance degradation caused by rainwater immersion.
Fire resistance rating should be determined based on the application location. For ordinary buildings, Class B1 (flame retardant) meets requirements. Public venues require Class A (non-combustible) materials to ensure safety. Industrial sites should select corresponding grades according to fire protection regulations.
Installation methods also influence product selection. For flat laying, standard roll felt is suitable. For vertical applications, products with slightly higher density should be chosen to prevent sagging and deformation after long-term use. For irregular shape wrapping, flexible thin felt is preferred for easy conformance to uneven surfaces.
